2 weeks ago on Sunday I went to visit Tower Bridge. Tower Bridge is a bascule bridge.
We explored the old Engine room (which isn’t used any more), The walkway and the Top floor.
Did you know that in the 1950s a London Bus jumped from 1 bascule to another and this was because of a miss understanding between the Controller and the Bus.

Joe, that sounds really interesting – I’d love to do that visit myself. I am so old I can remember when the bus jumped the bridge – there was quite a big story in the newspaper. I was 9 years old at the time.
