Visiting The Vyne

Today I went to see an estate called ‘The Vyne’. It was very interesting. Firstly, I went to see a construction site, which I was very mildly interested in. And then I went to see the actual house itself, which I found quite fascinating. One of the interesting things that in the olden days you would not be as better off in a rich family than you might think. There will be an example in one of the photos.
Anyway, here are the photos:

In the construction site, there were LEGO action figures lying around.

Here is the whole construction site.

If you payed £5 you could draw on a slab of brick (using a sharpie). I drew a bad self-portrait of myself.

Do you notice that the right light looks liked it has a figure inside it.

This mirror was used to help spread light around the room.

When this girl was only 6 years old she was already assigned a boy whom she would marry. This was without ‘any’ permission from the girl and the boy.

Now those are a lot of bells, which alert the servants.

Going to Bletchley Park

Today I went to Bletchley Park. Bletchley Park is where people did codebraking in World War II and probably shortened the war by 2 years thus less people would have died.

This whole building was thanks to a person called Gordon Welchmen who went to Cambridge University and went to Sydney Sussex college. He was the person who started this. Later, he wrote a letter to Winston Churchill (the Prime Minister of England at that time) to gather people from privileged universities like Cambridge. These included people like Alan Turing. He would gather up more and more people until there were about 10,000 people codebreaking.

These codebrakers that he gathered signed a contract called the ‘Official Secrets Act. This meant, they couldn’t tell ANYONE what they were doing. Not even other codebreakers. It was 30 years later when the public first knew what they had done.

There was also a pond that would freeze in the winter and people would use it as an Ice Rink.

My trip to Oman

Before the movie I want to give you a bit of information:

There will be a time stamp (in British date format) to show which day of the holiday it is.

A big thanks to Godfrey Heaps for giving me information about the mosques,

This film was intended to be 22 minutes long.

Also, some of the footage is sped up or trimmed to not make the movie too long.

A weird photograph of the Night sky

Right now I am in Oman. You won’t see any Oman-related blog posts because the house I’m staying in has no Wi-Fi, hence my Wi-Fi is a bit rationed. However I am making a movie which you can watch when I come back. (It will probably be 20-30 minutes long.

Anyway, yesterday I tried taking a photograph of the Night Sky.

Here are the settings I used: Shutter Speed- 30 secs, Aperture F 4.9, ISO- 800

And I got a photo looking like this:
