Cosmo Caixa

I went to a Science Museum called Cosmo Caixa. There were some cool interactive things there about Global Warming and about population change and some other cool stuff. There was also an Imax Cinema that was about space, did you know that for GPS (Global Positioning System) at least 3 satelites are working together to Navegate you, even just to for example to find the nearest coffee shop and most satelites orbit more than once per day. There was also a rainforest exhibition and a thing about light.

We have arrived in Barcelona

I have arrived in Barcelona. This my 3rd holiday in this summer holiday (because there was 1 holiday that I didn’t Blog about).I will try to post photos but i’m not 100% sure because my iPod-Touch sometimes crashes when I try to insert a picture. Today we’re going in the old quarter and the beach (in Barcelona) i’ll try to post photos if I can.

Did you know you have a 2nd brain

Did you know that you have a 2nd brain. It’s called the gut brain, without the gut brain you wouldn’t fell hungry and you wouldn’t have cravings. Your gut brain and your head brain do communicate with each other and scientists have even discovered what things they do communicate although the Gut Brain isn’t as important as the head Brain. It’s amazing that your gut Brain has newons inside it, but the gut brain isn’t as powerful as the head brain, anyway I don’t think it needs to be more powerful than the head Brain because of what job the gut Brain does. I learnt this in the Science Museum (in London).

Forces in our solar system

You know what Gravity is, (right). Well we’re going to be talking about the Gravity on other planets on our Solar System. Did you know that if the sun didn’t have Gravity then all the planets would be drifting in a strait line instead of orbitng around the sun. The moon’s magneticfield is too week for a compass to work. The reason why Saturn (and Jupiter) have rings is because their Gravity/Mass is so strong that trillions of rocks get pulled into their orbit and from a distance it looks like a ring so that explains why Saturn (and Jupiter have a moon). Also on earth  volcanos buldge to where the moon is from the Earth. The moon also controlles the tide.

A walk on a beach

This is what the beach looks like

This is what the beach looks like

This is one of the things we saw on our walk. In this part of the beach there are no waves (or the waves are very small).

This is one of the things we saw on our walk. In this part of the beach there are no waves (or the waves are very small).

Today we went to a beach in West Wittering. We went on a 3 Mile walk on the beach. After that we had a swim more than half an hour and we couldn’t really swim because the current was too strong and the waves were too big and strong. They were so strong that I got nocked into the water 3 or 4 times and water blocked my nose and had to get it out.

Fishbourne Palace

We went to a Roman Palace called Fishbourne Palace and we saw some mosaics. A long time ago a lot of the palace burnt down and there was some Central Heating being built and it never got finished. We even got to try some Roman food! There was bread, Cooked or stewed Apricot, lettuce and necterine with spices and mint and the Romans dipped the bread in Olive-Oil (instead of spreading butter or margarine).

This is a mosaic and these mosaics have been discovered by archeologists and often they don’t find the hole mosaic but they find part of it, but they still know what the whole mosaic would’ve looked like because of the pattern

A Beach

Today the Tide was quite low and it was very cold and wet.Yesterday it was really windy, the wind speed was 22mph! (Wow that is windy.)

This is what the sea looks like and in the very Distance you can see the Isle of Wight.

Kingley Vale

We went on a 2 hour walk in Kingley Vale a couple of days ago, to see some yew trees. We even went on the Devil’s Humps. The yew trees were so big we could just about hold hands around the trees (and 5 of us walked). Quite a lot of the walk was very steep because most of the walk was up a steep hill. At the very top of the hill we were about 200m above sea level!
